HIGHLIGHTS OF ALICE SPRINGS

Alice Springs is Australia’s best known “Outback” town. Originally settled as a post along the Overland Telegraph route, Alice Springs today is a lively town full of things to see and places to go. Today, visit the base of the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the School of the Air, two uniquely Australian organizations. Enjoy panoramic views of the town and the West MacDonnell Ranges from Anzac Hill. See the old Telegraph Station before transferring back to your hotel.

Half Day Aboriginal CultureHALF DAY ABORIGINAL CULTURE & DESERT PARK

Be greeted by your local Aboriginal Guide, and be introduced to the life and traditions of the Arrente People. Learn of life and survival in the desert, bush food, searching for water, and traditional tools. Visit the renowned Desert Park and enjoy the demonstration at the Nature Museum before exploring at leisure. Finally, visit the Alice Springs Cultural Precinct to view the paintings in the Albert Namatjira Gallery and wander through the Museum of Central Australia.

Tour is 5 hours and departs daily at 7:30am.

OUTBACK BALLOONING

Experience hot-air ballooning for either a half-hour or full-hour and watch the sun rise over the MacDonnell Ranges. You will be picked up from your hotel before dawn and fly within a 30-mile radius of Alice Springs. On your return to the ground, enjoy a delicious sparkling wine breakfast in the outback. Tour is 5 hours and departs daily from Alice Springs at 4:00am in summer and 5:00am in winter.

RED CENTER DREAMING DINNER & SHOW

This authentic, traditional and contemporary Aboriginal performance features dancing, weaponry, didgeridoo-playing, cultural history and storytelling. Enjoy a 3-course dinner with wine and soft drinks, including soup served with damper (Australian bread) barramundi, smoked lamb, and kangaroo with a choice of salad/vegetables served buffet style.

Tour is 3 hours and departs daily from your Alice Springs hotel at 6:30pm and returns at 10:00pm.

TAKE A CAMEL TO DINNER

Enjoy a 1-hour camel safari along the Todd River to the Frontier Camel Farm for a delicious home-cooked dinner. Visit the camel museum, arid zone reptile house, and kangaroos before pre-dinner drinks and bush tucker tasting. Hotel pick-up included.

Tour is 4 hours and departs daily from Alice Springs at 4:00pm May–September and 5:00pm October–April.

KING'S CANYON, SOUNDS OF FIRELIGHT

Ayers Rock ex Alice Springs

The flight from Alice Springs highlights the magnificence and vastness of the Australian interior. Marvel at Uluru (Ayers Rock) from the air before landing at Ayers Rock Airport where you transfer directly to your 4WD and personal guide for your journey out to Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) passing by the Spinifex grasslands and Mulga trees. Your first stop is at a dune lookout which puts you in touch with the environment and lets you delight in the spectacular panoramic view of Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) - a very sacred place to the Aboriginal people. Arriving at Walpa Gorge, we walk into this mystic place, to hear how it has evolved over millions of years.
