Originally settled as a post along the Overland Telegraph route, Alice Springs today is a lively town full of things to see and places to go. Today, visit the base of the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the School of the Air, two uniquely Australian organizations. Enjoy panoramic views of the town and the West MacDonnell Ranges from Anzac Hill. See the old Telegraph Station before transferring back to your hotel. Be greeted by your local Aboriginal Guide, and be introduced to the life and traditions of the Arrente People. Learn of life and survival in the desert, bush food, searching for water, and traditional tools. Visit the renowned Desert Park and enjoy the demonstration at the Nature Museum before exploring at leisure. Finally, visit the Alice Springs Cultural Precinct to view the paintings in the Albert Namatjira Gallery and wander through the Museum of Central Australia.
