SILVERSONIC GREAT BARRIER REEF CRUISE

Silversonic is designed for snorkeling and diving, visiting the very edge of the Great Barrier Reef. Spending five hours on the reef enables small groups to experience the best of nature’s beauty. The novice diver can enjoy 1 or 2 introductory dives while certified divers will enjoy up to 3 dives on three different reef locations. Dive sites are chosen for their visual impact and ecological diversity. On-board facilities include fresh water showers, air conditioned saloon cabin, large sunbathing deck areas and a delicious buffet lunch.

WHITE WATER RAFTING

Rapids to Grade 4

MICHAELMAS CAY REEF CRUISE

Sail from Cairns aboard a 104-foot catamaran, to Michaelmas Cay—a white sand oasis in a turquoise sea and a sanctuary for thousands of migratory seabirds. GREAT BARRIER REEF DAY CRUISE

Cruise to the outer Great Barrier Reef on a 120-foot catamaran. Moor at a spectacular section of the reef with maximum underwater visibility. Dive, snorkel or view the seascape from the semi-submersible underwater observatory. Check out the “Intro Dive” package, including all equipment, a 30-minute dive and certificate (purchase on board). Optional Extra—HELICOPTER TO THE REEF

Fly over the canopy of the World Heritage Rainforest, and watch the green change to vivid blues over the Great Barrier Reef. Flying low, the pilot provides an informative commentary. Landing at Agincourt Reef, on the very edge of the Great Barrier Reef, join the Quicksilver vessel and step aboard their floating platform for a day of activities. Quicksilver has facilities for both swimmers and non-swimmers. Tour is 5 hours and departs daily from Port Douglas at 10:30am. Flights available to/from Cairns and Port Douglas—ask for details.

TJAPUKAI ABORIGINAL CULTURAL PARK BY NIGHT

Join the traditional people of this land in a specially crafted evening that offers the chance to not only learn about Tjapukai Aboriginal Culture, but also experience it in the most powerful and personal way. This tour includes time in the Magic Space where Aboriginal Spirits are brought to life, a welcoming ceremony using the magic of fire and water, a sumptuous dining experience and a performance by the worldfamous Tjapukai Dancers.

CAIRNS NIGHT ZOO

When the sun goes down your guide will provide you with a flashlight and lead you into the darkness to meet the creatures of the night. Learn how owls hunt, touch a possum, pat a koala and see the crocodile’s eyes glow in the light. On clear nights your guide will take you star gazing. Join the resident Swaggie for billy tea and damper by the campfire, and have kangaroos eating out of your hand. Enjoy a fabulous barbecue dinner and complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks on a night full of entertainment and lots of fun.

FLAMES OF THE FOREST

An indigenous Australian experience of fine food and Aboriginal Dreamtime stories in a unique environment, the evening begins at a secluded rainforest clearing. Follow a candlelit path to be greeted Flames of the Forestwith canapés and pre-dinner drinks. A pathway leads you to a rainforest canopy area surrounded by hundreds of candles where a 3-course meal complete with wine awaits. Afterwards, learn about the history of the local people of the rainforest and listen to stories of the Aboriginal Dreamtime.

KURANDA BY APPOINTMENT

Today you will be personally guided through Hartley’s Crocodile Adventure park, being shown unique Australian flora and fauna before a wildlife-spotting boat cruise. After lunch transfer to Skyrail Rainforest Cableway for your journey above the rainforest canopy to Kuranda Village. Here you have some free time to explore the shops and market before boarding the Kuranda Scenic Rail for your journey over bridges and through tunnels to Freshwater station. We suggest upgrading to the exclusive Gold Class cabin – ask for details. You will be met and transferred back to your accommodation.

Tour is 10 hours, departing at 7:30am, daily from Cairns, Cairns beaches and Port Douglas.


ABORIGINAL CULTURE, SKYRAIL & RAINFOREST EXPERIENCE

Depart your hotel and head to Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park to experience the rich cultural dance and skills of the Aboriginal Australians. After lunch, board Skyrail. Your gondola takes you above the canopy of this World Heritage National Park. Enjoy a walk through the rainforest, along boardwalks to view the fern-covered forest floor. Arriving at Kuranda, be escorted to the village, which has markets, Butterfly Farm, boutique stores and arts and crafts. Then visit the mighty Barron Falls lookout before returning to Cairns.

CAPE TRIBULATION BY APPOINTMENT

Depart Cairns and travel towards Daintree, traveling via the spectacular rainforest of the Mossman Gorge National Park. After morning tea, enjoy time at Daintree learning about the unique wildlife and habitat of the area, including estuarine crocodiles. Continue to Alexandra Lookout for breathtaking views of the coast. Enjoy a delicious lunch before traveling by 4WD along the Bloomfield Track to Cape Tribulation. Here you have the opportunity to walk along the beach. Enjoy afternoon tea before crossing the Daintree River by cable ferry for the journey home.

Explore the rainforest and amazing landscapes of the Cape Tribulation Wilderness area. Travel towards the Daintree River and the Daintree Environmental Center for morning tea. An expert guide will take you on a boardwalk through one the world’s oldest rainforests. After the walk, learn more through theater presentations/ interactive displays, or ascend the rainforest canopy tower. Continue to Cape Tribulation Beach. REEF FISHING

Tour Highlights

Departing your Cairns city hotel, we travel through the sugar cane and pineapple plantations toward the Daintree River, where we join a personalized river cruise. The cruise takes us through areas where the rainforest meets overhead and crocodiles can often be seen basking on the muddy banks. (Sea snakes and pythons, also native to the mangrove swamp, can be seen on the cruise.) We enjoy a home prepared morning tea while cruising the placid waters before returning to our vehicle to cross the river aboard a barge. We enter the Daintree Rainforest, making our way to Cape Tribulation, where we stroll through the rainforest to the shores of the Coral Sea. Here we view the bay against the backdrop of the dense rainforest. We enjoy a delicious lunch under the canopy of the forest before traveling into 4WD country along the Bloomfield Track to Woobadda Creek. After exploring the area, we return along the track, taking a stroll deep into the rainforest. Returning to the vehicle, we travel southward and enter the Mossman Gorge with its breathtaking waterfalls and rushing waters, returning to Cairns in late afternoon. This will be a truly memorable and exhilarating day.
