Day 1: Arrive Christchurch

On arrival in Christchurch, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight: Christchurch

Day 2: Christchurch—Mt Cook—Queenstown

Depart Christchurch early this morning and travel to beautiful Lake Tekapo. Continue on to Mt Cook National Park, which boasts New Zealand’s highest peak. There’s time to take an optional scenic flight (own expense). Continue on to Queenstown. Overnight: Queenstown for 3 nights

Day 3: Milford Sound Sights & Cruise

Enjoy the beautiful scenery of Fiordland National Park en route to Milford Sound. Cruise past spectacular Bowen Falls and majestic Mitre Peak (tour will operate subject to road and weather conditions).

Day 4: Queenstown

Spend today exploring Queenstown.

Day 5: Queenstown—Franz Josef

Visit Lakes Wanaka and Hawea and view rugged West Coast scenery through Haast Pass on the way to Franz Josef Village. Overnight: Franz Josef for 2 nights

Day 6: Franz Josef

Day at leisure to explore Franz Josef Glacier. Enjoy a guided walk or heli-flight (optional, additional expense).

Day 7: Franz Josef—Christchurch

Travel to Greymouth and board the TranzAlpine train for a journey famous for its spectacular mountain scenery through the Southern Alps. Cross the Canterbury Plains to Christchurch, arriving at approximately 6:40pm.
