On arrival in Auckland, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Overnight: Auckland Day 2: Auckland—Waitomo—Rotorua Today, travel south to Rotorua via the rich pastoral province of Waikato. Enjoy lunch at the fascinating Waitomo Caves. Experience a guided tour of the famous Glow Worm grotto featuring an underground boat ride. Continue on and arrive in Rotorua. This evening, enjoy a unique Maori Hangi (feast) and cultural performance. Overnight: Rotorua for 2 nights (L,D) Day 3: Rotorua Sightseeing Experience the many varied sights that Rotoruahas to offer. Visit Te Puia and the Maori Arts & Crafts Institute, where you will enjoy a guided tour and see Maori carving and weaving demonstrations. Walk through the Thermal Reserve to see boiling mud pools and shooting geysers. Next visit Rainbow Springs, a unique showcase of flora and fauna featuring some of New Zealand’s endangered native species. The Agrodome Sheep Show is a “hands-on” experience that offers an animated insight into New Zealand’s farming history. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure. Perhaps take a tour of the Buried Village or a swim at the Polynesian Spa (own expense). Day 4: Rotorua—Queenstown Fly to Queenstown (flight not included), where you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of your day is free to enjoy at leisure. Overnight: Queenstown for 3 nights Day 5: Milford Sound Day Excursion* Join your Milford Sound Red Boat cruise. Journey to the mouth of the sound and see the seals and dolphins. Return to Queenstown. Day 6: Queenstown at Leisure A free day to enjoy the many activities available. Day 7: Queenstown—Aoraki Mt Cook— Christchurch Depart Queenstown this morning and travel into Mt Cook National Park. Take a scenic flight (optional, own expense) over some of New Zealand’s finest alpine scenery. This afternoon travel via Lake Tekapo before arriving into Christchurch around 7:30pm—an additional night’s accommodation is recommended. Departs: Daily from Auckland
