El Segundo, California - Bolstering its reputation as the market leader for travel to the South Pacific, Qantas Vacations was voted “Best Tour Operator to Australia, New Zealand & South Pacific” at the Travel Age West WAVE awards held June 7 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills.

“Because tonight’s winners were voted on and selected by travel agents, it makes this award that much more rewarding,” declared Kieron Keady, Qantas Vacations’ Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Agents throughout the western United States had cast votes on their favorites in a variety of tourism categories for the evening’s event.

“Qantas Vacations beat out some strong competition and we really have to thank our agent partners for this honor tonight,” continued Keady, who accepted the award on behalf of the El Segundo based company. “We’ve worked hard at becoming known as ‘the Best DownUnder’ and plan on continuing that way.”

The black tie event was attended by more than 250 of the industry’s top leaders, representing most of the industry’s major cruise, hotel and tour operators.
