LAUNCESTON CITY SIGHTS

DEPARTS LAUNCESTON Discover the highlights of Launceston on this half day city sights tour. Visit some of the city’s most famous attractions, including Albert Hall, Princes Square, Princess Theatre, The Australian Maritime College, the only one of its kind in Australia, Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, the historic Boag’s Brewery and the entrance of the famous Cataract Gorge.

WEST COAST WILDERNESS RAILWAY

DEPARTS STRAHAN Through the boom years of West Coast mining, steam locomotives hauled a fortune in pure copper from Queenstown’s Mt Lyell mine, through the rugged King River Gorge and down to the Macquarie Harbor port of Strahan. Travel aboard this historic steam locomotive and follow the original Australian Copper miners trail from the 19th Century. Enjoy lunch before returning to Strahan by coach.

Tour is 6 hours and departs daily except Mondays.

 


RUSSELL FALLS & WILDLIFE EXPERIENCE

DEPARTS HOBART Travel North West and discover the tranquility of pristine rainforest and spectacular Russell Falls at the Mt Field National Park. The tall treeferns provide a canopy for a delightful walk along a forest stream. Enjoy a lunch of fresh local Tasmanian Salmon with a glass of wine. Return to Hobart past Something Wild, for close up encounters with Australian native animals.

GORDON RIVER CRUISE

PORT ARTHUR DISCOVERY TOUR

DEPARTS HOBART From your hotel, pass Salamanca Place, Constitution Dock and Battery Point before making your way to the historic village of Richmond. On the way to Port Arthur, Australia’s famous penal settlement, visit Australia’s oldest Catholic church. See various natural attractions on the peninsula's rugged coast, such as Devils Kitchen. The settlement of Port Arthur was created to put fear and hatred into the minds of those unfortunate enough to be sent there. After a light lunch, your guide will escort you around the ruins of the settlement, telling you tales of the hardships suffered by the convicts. End the day with a short cruise around the harbor.

PEPPERMINT BAY CRUISE

DEPARTS HOBART On this half day cruise adventure through Hobart’s magnificent waterways, you will be fascinated by secluded bays, dramatic coastline, and sea life viewed from underwater cameras. See sea eagles nesting on cliff faces, Salmon feeding at a fish farm, observe seals, dolphins and migrating whales (when in season). Step ashore at Peppermint Bay and enjoy unsurpassed views of the D’entrecasteaux Channel and the Huon region. TWILIGHT WILDLIFE DISCOVERY TOUR

DEPARTS HOBART Depart your hotel and pass through the historic Docklands area before heading along the shore of the Derwent River. Travel through the historic village of New Norfolk. Visit a wildlife park and come face to face with Australian koalas, wombats, wallabies and kangaroos. Visit Lake Fenton, then see the magnificent Russell Falls in Mt. Field National Park. Watch for the elusive platypus swimming in the Derwent River (conditions permitting). Then enter Mt. Field National Park for a chance to spotlight for wild animals.

BRUNY ISLAND  DAY TOUR

DEPARTS HOBART Wildlife galore! Depart your hotel and travel along the scenic channel highway to board the ferry to Bruny Island. Board your boat and visit Friar Rocks, home to hundreds of Australian fur seals. Observe sea eagles, gannets, albatross, shearwaters, gulls and cormorants as they hunt in these abundant waters. Enjoy the antics of dolphins and penguins, or perhaps spot whales as they migrate from the Antarctic Ocean.
